It is also called Niruha Vasti or Asthapana Basti. This Vasti is done with medicinal decoctions (kashaya) for eliminating aggravated doshas and diseases from the body. This therapy is done in empty stomach also done with the combination of Anuvasana Vasti.
Kashaya Vasti is one among the Panchkarama procedure in which warm medicated decoction is given through the anal route. The medicated decoction is made up of five herbal ingredients; Kashayavasti is indicated in all neurological diseases like hemiplegia, paraplegia, weight loss and certain arthritic conditions.
UttaraVasti is the procedure of administering vasti through vagina, uterine route, urinary route or through penis ( uttaramarga or linga marga). In Female, Uttara Vasti done through vagina or through urethral opening. In VAGINAL vasti is done either using sneha dravyas or kashaya dravyas but through intra urethral only. Sneha dravyas are used in order to avoid complications.
Uttara Vasti in male is done by administering vasti through urinary route or through penis.

Nose is the gateway or entrance to the head ,so it is mainly done for the diseases of the head. Nasyam procedure in Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment facilitates the Purification, nourishment, stimulation and strengthening. Nasyam directly influences the sense organs as the medicines get a good chance of absorption through blood vessels.
Nasyam is one of the important treatments in Ayurveda used in Panchakarma procedure. Medicated oils, powders etc. are instilled through the nasal route. The upper portion of the body from the neck upwards is massaged during this process. Rakthamokshana is an effective procedure used for local detoxification by removing impure blood as in cases of eczema, acne, scabies, leucoderma, rash, metastatic, and non-metastatic tumours.
It is the purification therapy done by letting out impure or vitiated blood from the body for eliminating vitiated doshas and promoting detoxification. Mainly done for Pittaja and Raktaja diseases.
Shstra is a category of Raktamokshana procedure by using sharp instruments. There are two types of Shastra Raktamokshana procedures named Siravedhana And Prachana.
Siravedana is the letting out of circulating venous blood by tying a tourniquet above the particular area and and exerting a single stroke pressure on the tip of the blade which is placed on the respective vein.This is done for Sarvanga rakta dushti
Prachana Karma is the type of Shastra Raktamokshana in which a sharp instrument like lancet or Trikurchaka is used to drain blood from an infected or non infected site.
Anushastra Raktamokshana procedure is conducted by not using sharp instruments. 3 types of anussastra procedures are in use like Jaloukavacharanam, Alabu and Srunga Vicharanam.
Jaloukavacharanam or Leech Therapy is used in Panchakarma treatment by applying non poisonous leeches for drawing impure blood from infected or non infected sites of the body. Procedure done for alleviating pitta rogas.
Alabu is the procedure done using bitter (tikta) taste bottle gourd or pitcher gourd for sucking and extracting impure blood from the infected area.
